I'm nuts for fishing out of kayaks and canoes. Years ago I learned the trick of using a pingpong
paddle to make quick position corrections with one hand while fishing. It enables you to move
without putting down your fishing rod. While the pingpong paddle's shape functioned, it wasn't ideal.
I played around with shapes and came up with my cleaver-like design, which has more reach and is
more ergonomic as it puts more paddle in the water with less bending of the wrist. I use only the
best materials - The blade is made of okoume mahogany marine plywood and the handle is eastern
red cedar, glued up with epoxy. Design features include a hook shape for pulling to and "teeth" for
pushing away from docks, trees, other boats, etc.. I find myself using it extensively when fishing and
I'm sure you will to. Click to order below. Paddles ship within a week.

Handmade Hand-painted Landing Nets -
I take some interesting wood, steambend it into a large landing net, add a Brodin Ghost Net (clear
rubber) to it, and with some I paint a fish or scene in the area where the net joins the handle. I have
ambitious goals when it comes to trout size, so I like a medium-large net with some decent width and a
flattish end that a fish can't easily skirt around. My nets measure approx. 12" x 17" in actual net size,
and 27" in total length. Pictures of individual nets for sale coming soon.

Image and Measurements of my Landing Nets
My inspiration was a trip to Cape St.Joe, Florida with a cousin and a brother-in-law where we drifted
over grass flats and cast Super Spooks to the horizon in search of gator trout and redfish. Nothing is
more exciting than walking the dog with a topwater plug and having a big fish slam into it halfway to
the boat. So I did a little research and started whittling on some cedar and poplar wood until I came up
with some nice prototypes. A little experimentation later and I had a nicely balanced lure that floated
just right for dogwalking and that I could cast for miles. Now I've been working on settling on a few
color choices and fine-tuning my production setup. Once I have that done and a good inventory in
stock, these babies will be available here.
